Garage report: 996SPS to Testastretta 999S engine
01.09.2006
From the column “current from our workshop”.
The “old” computer version of the 996 SPS is to remain absolutely preserved because of the problem-free function and the good adjustment possibilities. Side effect are more HP and torque with clean run and best to be dosedness.
The pictures show the change of a 999 S to a P08 computer with two sensors like used on the 996 SPS models. The result of this is a substantially better responding, softer and stronger engine.
The engine must be changed by the intermediate gear and flywheel, for which the original generator cover must be changed. We reproduced the cover with two sensors. In the prototype we changed the original cover. This is then exchanged.
Further the old potentiometer of the P08 computer should be used on the new throttle bodies. But an expander and the extension of the throttle body axle are necessary.
A changed air box and new flanges at the exhaust system naturally too. This made the customer by himself.
