Racing engine Testastretta with 1078ccm
The engine is driven with a capacity extension. As a result of the extended stroke in the 998R/999R 1078ccm results. High compression Pistal pistons finds likewise use. The valves are extended on 42mm inlet and 33mm exhaust. The channels were adapted accordingly and the valve guides are replaced by pure copper guidance to ensure an optimal heat dissipation. The crank shaft was fine balanced in the Street Race Style and provided with a set of doubling profile titanium piston rods.
A Racing gear box with aluminum switching rollers and Racing shift forks is used. The weight advantage is to neglect however importantly thereby is easy switching, fast gear changes and closely sequential gear steps. The first gear is very long and the further gears very briefly following.
The fuel system takes place via a injection body with 58mm cross section (series 54mm). The exhaust diameter amounts to 65mm and extends conical on 70mm.
The engine is used in this configuration the second season.
