Ducati 998S/R-999S/R-1078-1114-1205 ccm
998 R/S and 999 R/S tuning based on about 140-144 hp.
A light flywheel should always be inserted with a Tuning. Small costs but large effect, once weight reduction of the total weight and in this case also weight reduction of the rotary masses (Ergal flywheel is 1,8 kg more lighter as the original part).
Same applies naturally to a "open" or larger exhaust system. This is a basic condition to continue working toward torque and achievement.
A consistent solution is a Akrapovic exhaust system (or comparable) with 60 mm cross section. It results a performance increase on 148-152 hp. Is evtl. already available otherwise you find these systems in our Internet shop. A power commander is necessary for the tuning of the computer basis. Price 349 €. The tuning expenditure depends upon performance level and lies between approx. 150 and 350 Euro excl. tax.
Further increase of achievement without mechanical works is fine adjustment of camshafts. This should be simplest combined with a inspection. Brings again 3-4 hp and costs within an inspection approx.. 250 €.
Here is a sample for this work together with a open Termignoni exhaust system and a injection module:

Working on Engine and heads at a delivered vehicle.
Valves, porting, squeezing edge, new adjusting, valves and combustion chamber polished. Price approx. 1250 € excl. tax for the head work including new valve adjustment and the material.
Taking heads off and assembling at a completely delivered vehicle costs approx. 785 € excl. tax. If you deliver only the engine costs reduce to approx. 485 € excl. tax. The performance rises up to 156-160 hp.
or alternativ :
headporting with 42 mm inlet valves instead of original 40 mm as complete set with new adjustment and all materials for 1480 €.

High compression pistons (set is about 814 €) plus the mentioned above results in 165-168 hp.
At this stage of tuning racing water- and oil coolers (approx. 1320 € and 380 €) are mostly necessary. It cannot be calculated exactly. More details can be said only after the appropriate test bench runs, how the engine behaves individually thermally.
Big Bore steps are 1078-1114-1205 ccm, there is a big play field.
